My Arcade Fire Valentine

前天早晨在鬧鐘的聲聲催促下，於八點五十五分醒來，隨後便守在電腦前，等著加入廝殺"慘烈":http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2007/01/arcade_fire_tic.html的戰局。當我在八分鐘後順利買到兩張"Arcade Fire":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/005987.html於二月十四日的演唱會門票，第一時間倒不是激動大叫或暗自竊喜，而是一種，【嗯，2007年真的是我的幸運年喔。】這樣子的感覺。累積多年的搶票經驗雖讓我得以購得大部分想看場次的票券，卻也並非一帆風順而毫無失敗前例。印象最深的當屬去年六月的"Radiohead":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/002175.html，我在信心十足地狀態下竟鎩羽而歸，忙了一個早上卻一無所獲。要是當時預知Radiohead演唱會當晚我將躺在醫院裡進行第二次"盲腸炎":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/007834.html手術，我直接窩在棉被裡睡到中午其實就可以了。不過大體來說，我的演唱會購票過程仍是相當強運。少數無法在開賣當下搶贏別人的場次，多能於事後在"Craiglist":http://newyork.craigslist.org/tix/上碰到不知哪來的善心人士，願意以合理的價錢轉賣二手票給我。王建民的首場"季後賽":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/008428.html如此，Flaming Lips去年三月的Webster Hall"演出":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/008395.html如此，Rolling Stones前年九月的Giant Stadium"演出":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/006564.html亦是如此。最常被我提及的神蹟仍屬2004年十二月的冬日正午。我打電話至"Mercury Lounge":http://www.mercuryloungenyc.com/的Box Office確定仍有餘票之後，便匆匆套上厚重外衣，踩踏在雪地上飛奔至地鐵站（話說紐約今年的冬天還真炎熱，我雖鬆了一口氣，許多期待下雪的人卻註定得失望了）。推開Mercury Lounge鑲有玻璃的木門，加入冗長的排隊陣容。輪到我時，整場演出只剩三張門票。我故作善心地只買了兩張，將最後一張票留給了身後的棕髮女孩。那次不可思議的幸運經歷讓我參與了生平第一場Arcade Fire"演出":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/004759.html，一場或許是我這輩子最難忘的演唱會。從那時起，我直覺認為自己與這群加拿大人有著某種神祕的難言牽扯。此次順利買得兩張情人節當晚的入場券又再度印證了這一廂情願的（也非常樂迷的）假設。表演場地是華盛頓廣場旁的"Judson Memorial Church":http://www.judson.org/，一座莊嚴古老、能容納五百人的教堂（既然新專輯"Neon Bible":http://www.neonbible.com/readme.html錄製於Montreal郊區的教堂裡，選在教堂表演還真是切題）。我已能想像當管風琴的聲音迴盪於教堂時，全場陷入落淚邊緣的動人氛圍。此次新專輯暖身的紐約之行雖是一連五天，門票卻（毫不意外地）在十分鐘內銷售一空。目前在eBay或Craiglist都是可笑的"天價":http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2007/01/will_work_for_a.html，我只能再次慶幸。於此同時，Neon Bible也確定了發行日期。北美為三月六日，歐洲則提早一天。除了之前流傳過的"Intervention":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/008843.html，官方網站也"串流著":http://arcadefire.com/yope.html首支單曲Black Mirror。如果你嫌Flash動畫擾人（其實只需點閱Win's Scrapbook即可），已有網友將之製成可供下載的"MP3檔案":http://obscuresound.com/mp3/arcade-black.mp3（音質不甚理想便是）。對我來說，Black Mirror不似Intervention搶耳，以單曲的標準來說是弱了一些（尤其與那些無以名狀的偉大Funeral單曲們相較），不過仍在可接受的範圍。當我的高昂期待稍受打擊時，卻瞧見了下列這支宣傳短片。聽著專輯裡十一首歌曲的簡短片段，翻騰的血液再度重回燃點；我知道這是一張不會讓我失望的專輯。如果聆聽搖滾樂的十幾年歷程裡，除了每一張Radiohead或"Wilco":http://pulp.bluecircus.net/archives/002166.html的新專輯仍讓我維持了某些不妥協的期許，我暫時找不著上一次如此熱切等待著某張新發行物的前例了。

哇哇哇, 甘拜下風indeed. 真是太厲害了, Montreal這兒的票15分鐘就賣光了, 在一間很小的教堂, 他們發Funeral的時候也在這裡一間教堂開新專輯發布party, 我有去, 那個時候funeral還有幾天才正式出, 人就已經多得不得了了, 當時覺得在教堂跳舞怪怪的, 不過聽了才知道funeral的歌都真伏何教堂的氣氛.

其實售票系統有時候會偷跑，那天九點不到 "virtual waiting room" 就已經開張了。早個五分十分鐘開始 refresh 不吃虧。

在Merge官網可用非常公道的價錢（絕對低於市價）預購Neon Bible的平裝CD版、精裝CD版與雙LP黑膠版。不但免稅也免運費（美國國內），非常划算。當然了，直些向廠牌購買唱片的好處之一是能獲得一些相關的小贈品，如貼紙或海報，此次也不例外。強力推薦。

i didnt buy tickets via internet (cos bad luck >"<)
but they sell limited tickets (about 50) on the show day

so i got my arcade fire ticket last nite!!! (finally)

they are really fucking amazing!!!! i will go the friday's one as well
